The National House of Chiefs |
This came after the Bono Regional House of Chiefs conceded a directive documented by one of the displeased parties after he was introduced as the Paramount Chief and asked to quit holding himself as such forthcoming the final resolution of the matter.
Nana Abrefa Damoah then pursued the decision to the National House of Chiefs, which overturned the directive.
Joseph Addai Akwaboah, lawyer to Nana Abrefa Damoah says this is a important stage towards ensuring peace in the area.
"We are exceptionally energized, and we are extremely certain that this decision will carry development to people of Wenchi. This appeal has been pending for close more than two years. We generally come, however either one of the committee Chairman won't show up, and it will be dismissed. So we are very happy about this consistent decision by the committee."
Amoako Frimpong, the lawyer for the party challenging the Chief's legitimacy, says he will concentrate on the full ruling when it is made free to them and decide whether or not to go to the Supreme Court.
"Presently, we don't have the foggiest idea about the reason for which they have saved the directive. We are informed that the choice will be prepared in about two weeks. So by and by, our position is to conclude whether my client and I will appeal the decision at the Supreme Court."
