A former CEO for the Minerals Commission, Dr. Tony Aubyn has expressed that any transition to superfluously burden the extractive area will be a lazy man's way to deal with income collection.
He made the statement in response to a call by the Institute of Economic Affairs (IEA), requesting that government increment taxes on the extractive sector.
As per him, measures ought to be fairly set up to have the extractive companies support different networks inside which they work.
"It's a languid man's way to deal with increment charges for the extractive area. They are now engaged with so many task where they work, so expanding their assessments isn't the most ideal way to help them", he said.
"I think we should be more creative as a group since, supposing that you present such a large number of expenses, financial backers would now need to investigate different choices and contribute somewhere else", he added.
Dr. Aubyn repeated the requirement for government to smooth out the extractive area to draw in additional financial backers.
He required an immediate contribution of government in Ghana's Lithium Creation project.
"The concessions can be given out to the confidential area yet there is the requirement for government to investigate different approaches to putting into the task. We want the public authority to be straightforwardly engaged with this exercise as opposed to simply be depending on the 10% returns we get", he kept up with.
