Armed soldier sent to Nalerigu to arrest a purportedly enskinned Bawku Naba and the Master of Mamprugu clashed with the town's youth midnight at 12 PM.
The attempt by the soldier followed a warrant gave by a High Court in Bolgatanga for the arrest of the two traditional leaders for their involvement in the enskinment of a new chief on Wednesday.
In an official statement gave by the Information Minister on February 15, the government said the act is a national security violation.
"The Government condemns developments in Nalerigu today February 15, 2023, concerning the implied enskinment of another Bawku Naba as unlawful and a danger to National Security," excerpts of the statement signed by Kojo Oppong Nkrumah said.
The statement continued with that "Naba Asigri Abugrago Azoka II is the Bawku Naba, duly gazetted and an member from the National and Upper East Regional House of Chief."

It has, thusly, directed the security agencies to arrest and prosecute whatever other person who holds himself out as a Bawku Naba.
As per JoyNews reporter, Eliasu Tanko, the militry force upon their arrival on Sunday night, in any case, couldn't do the arrest as they were met by the irate young people of the town.
The young had taken control over the palaces of the two chiefs, leading a stalemate and ensuing retreat by the soldiers.
The officers in this manner retreat.
However, the development drove the young to vandalized the police station nearby and New Patriotic Party (NPP) office.
