The governor of Nigeria's Lagos state, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has called for people to come and give blood as doctors treat those injured in an impact between a train and bus prior on Thursday.
"It is as yet a critical period for a some of the patients as we keep on calling for blood donations across various state government medical facilities," Mr Sanwo-Olu said in a progression of tweets about the accident.
He said that 85 travelers were on board the bus conveying government employees to work when it was hit by a passenger train during busy time on Thursday morning in the Ikeja region of the city.
The governor confirmed that six people had died and said 29 people were in a critical condition, another 42 people had moderate wounds and a further eight had gentle injuries.
He said thanks to the emergency workers and others engaged with the salvage activity and furthermore the staff and students at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (Lasuth), where those injured are being dealt with.
The accident occurred at a rail line crossing with no boundary.
"This was an absolutely avoidable incident that basically expected persistence and the need to follow legitimate transportation convention," said the lead representative, who is looking for re-appointment one week from now.
