The Convention People's Party (CPP) has settled on the date to elect its flagbearer for the 2024 presidential elections.
The party said at a Central Committee Meeting hung on Monday, March 20, all members predominantly concurred that the flagbearer elections ought to be held by Monday, June 12.
This, as per the party, is as per its constitution, which orders the party to hold the primaries two years before general elections when it is in opposition.
"We empower all qualified members who are envious to lead our incredible party to win the 2024 elections to introduce themselves forward when nominations are opened," an official statement gave by General Secretary Nana Yaa Akyempim Jantuah said.
A seven-members Congress Committee has likewise been set up to "design out and assemble modalities as well as direct the flagbearer elections".
The first flagbearer of the CPP was organizer Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, who turned into the principal Leader of Ghana.
In the last two presidential elections, the CPP has been represented by lawyer Ivor Kobina Greenstreet.
