A boat carrying grievers from Azizanya to Azizakpe in the Volta Region has capsized.
Five of the more than 20 travelers on-board have been confirmed dead while a rescue mission is continuous to save the rest.
Assembly member of Azizakpe Electoral Area, Daniel Adzakpa, confirmed the fiasco to the media.
He said there was a tempest Saturday morning as the boat was shipping the grievers to a burial service in Azizakpe and that caused the capsized.
The Assembly member said the boat ought to have conveyed around 25 passengers however he gathered there were more on board.
"The boat was over-burden," he stated on TV3's Midday Live on Saturday, March 18.
Many occupants including different grievers were seen praying for good news as the rescue mission was done.
