A member of the Communication Team of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Vera Wiredu, has made light of reports of the partisanship of recently sworn-in member of the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) Dr Peter Appiahene.
She demands that Dr Appiahene isn't a card-bearing member of the ruling party, nor is he a supporter of any favorable to NPP bunch.
In the wake of being confirmed along with Lady Salima Ahmed Tijani and Reverend Akua Ofori Boateng on Monday, Walk 20 at the Celebration House by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the lecturer at the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) was supposed to be an member of the NPP and a supporter of its students' wing.
Fliers were shared about how Dr Appiahene was thought of as one of the people for the ministerial position for Bono Region.
Talking on television's New Day on Thursday, March 23, Madam Wiredu said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) began this "propaganda agenda" with a brief video about the man presenting a defense for the Free SHS, which didn't fly.
"The man of his word was expressing from an expert and individual perspective," she made sense of.
She additionally demanded that the flier that is indicating to come from the NPP might have been made by any other person, even the NDC.
"Anyone can create that [flier]. It isn't from the [ruling] party," she said, later adding: "From fliers anybody can deliver a flier. That flier might in fact be delivered by the NDC to help their story in the media space since when they put the video out there, that video didn't fly."
She said that flier can be compared to that of award winning musician Edem's.
The artist had delivered the flier for an upcoming song yet the media confused it as his bid to run for NDC parliamentary leadership.
