Lead coach of the Black Bombers, Ofori Asare, says he has not gotten a meriting reward following his job in gaining a decoration for Ghana at the 2020 Olympic Games.
Asare drove the Black Bombers to win Ghana's just decoration at the opposition in Tokyo following Samuel Takyi's bronze decoration after a semi-last completion in the boxing featherweight division.
The award was Ghana's most memorable platform finish since winning bronze at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona.
Talking on Euphoria Sports' Excellent Take, Ofori Asare communicated his mistake with the acknowledgment he has gotten following the accomplishment with the group Tokyo.
"We have been compensated. They gave something to the fighters and I was thinking I was not compensated well from [the achievement of] Samuel Takyi up to the District Games since I'm the lead trainer," he said.
"I was the person who made Samuel Takyi win the decoration, I was the who made different fighters at the Province Games dominate those awards. They gave the individuals who won the bronze decoration more than me.
"The fighters got $5,000 yet mine is lower and mine is equivalent to my associate mentors. The distinction didn't come out in light of the fact that I am the lead trainer, I'm the one they can sack from the group. I'm the person who emerges with every one of the projects so I don't have the foggiest idea why they can't grasp that.
That's what he added in spite of the fact that he was given a prize, he merited more than whatever he got.
"They gave me something yet I assume I merited more than that. Indeed, even at the Olympic Games, there are mentors who accomplished nothing. They went there with their competitors however I was the person who brought a decoration and anything they gave we shared together. It was unreasonable on my part."
Ofori Asare likewise drove his group to two decorations at the 2022 Ward Games in Birmingham.
