The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) says it has kept a decrease in road traffic accidents, wounds and death from 2022 through to the start of 2023.
As per NRSA, temporary figures accumulated from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, demonstrate that there were reliable month-by-month decreases in 2022.
NSRA said the MTTD recorded 14,960 accidents, 15,690 wounds and 2,373 death representing 7.55%, 1.54% and 20.1% decreases in 2022.
An assertion gave by the NRSA on March 23, said, "the National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) is empowered by the ceaseless decreases in Road Traffic accidents, Wounds and death (CIDs) from the year 2022 through to this year 2023".
NRSA added, "temporary measurements accessible at the Power, assembled from the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service, shows that the CIDs saw reliable month-by-month decreases in 2022 completion the year with 14,960 accidents, 15,690 wounds and 2,373 death representing 7.55%, 1.54% and 20.1% decreases, separately, contrasted with the year 2021".
The NRSA expressed that a 31.56% decrease in crashes was recorded among January and February 2023, contrasted and a similar period in 2022.
"For January and February this year, as per the measurements accumulated by the Police, there have been 2,222 recorded crashes, 2,452 recorded wounds and 321 recorded death representing 15.35%, 8.27% and 31.56% decreases, separately, contrasted and a similar period last year," the NRSA underscored in its explanation.
The NRSA was happy with the decreases in business vehicles, confidential vehicles and cruisers associated with crashes inside the most recent two months of 2023.
NRSA in its articulation expressed that, "the measurements likewise show comparative decreases in the quantity of Walkers wrecked out and about by 23.78%, as well as the absolute number of Vehicles Engaged with street crashes by 12.63%.
