The Chairman of Roads and Highways Committee in Parliament, Kennedy Osei Nyarko says he will dismiss any proposed street tolls that is underneath GH¢5.
As per him, the average road toll within the subregion is $1.
Subsequently any proposed cost which is under GH¢5, won't be in that frame of mind of the government.
Mr Osei Nyarko said the costs have been suspended for over a year in this manner, the sum to be paid after its renewed introduction ought to be critical.
Addressing the media about the government's proposed renewed introduction of street tolls, the Akim Swedru legislator said he will just help a suitable sum.
"Subsequent to suspending the street tolls for over a year, for what reason do we simply add 50 pesewas to it? As the Roads Committee Chair, I won't uphold anything short of GH¢5.
"I'm doing that in light of the typical street cost in the subregion and worldwide which is $1."
The government has proposed an expansion in the street tolls following its renewed introduction street in the wake of nullifying the collection in 2021.
The Reserved Assets Covering and Realignment Act, 2017 (Act 947) of the constitution gives the money serve the power to commit a part of road toll to the Road Fund oversaw by the Ministry of Roads and Expressways and utilize the rest of different purposes.
