Former Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan has leaped to the defense of fizzling attacker Inaki Williams refering to the African environment as a deterrent to his viability.
The Athletic Bilbao forward changed nationality from Spain to Ghana in June 2022 and was remembered for then Black Stars coach Otto Addo's last squad for the World Cup in Qatar. Williams who played three amicable matches before the competition failed to score regardless of playing all the counterparts for Ghana at the opposition.
The story was the same when the team engaged with Angola on Thursday getting a success politeness of a late strike from Semenyo who supplanted Inaki Williams in the game.
Williams' inability to score has started raising worries among the fanbase yet Asamoah Gyan says all the player needs is to be given additional chance to incorporate himself into the African environment.
As per him, Williams will overwhelm Ghana when his presentation goals shows up.
"It's extremely challenging to acclimate to the African game, He has played in Europe for his entire life.
"We want to offer him more chances, he is working on despite the fact that he hasn't dug up some authentic confidence yet I'm certain his most memorable objective will open the conduits and a lot more will follow.
"His first goal will help his certainty confidence. How about we continue to help him," Gyan told Akoma FM.
With seven points, Ghana will look for a success against Angola in the opposite fixture to get a spot in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) scheduled for the following year in Ivory Coast.
