One person has died and four others have sustained different degrees of injury following aggravations between a few unlawful miners and workers of Golden Star Wassa Mine at Benso in the Western Region.
In a video sighted by Jemohonline.com, the intruders were seen chasing after the workers with machetes and other equipment.
The workers were, consequently, left with no decision except for to frantically make tracks.
Addressing Adom News, the Assembly Member for Benso Electoral Area said the unlawful excavators thusly set the mine burning.
As per him, properties worth large number of Ghana cedis have been annihilated.
In the mean time, the police show that quiet has been reestablished nearby.
In an explanation, the police encouraged "all gatherings to resist the urge to panic as the police investigate the incident and bring any people viewed as punishable to confront justice."
