Amartei Armar, a Ghanaian writer/director whose most recent film, TSUTSU, had its world debut at Cannes as a member of the official selection and is up for the Short Palm D'Or, has been chosen for the 7th Realness African Screenwriters' Residency.
Amartei Armar will take part in the Residency from July 14 to September 6 in South Africa along with four other exceptional African screenwriters.
The six-week program's goal is to assist screenwriters in a fun and supportive setting so they may improve their feature film scripts. The screenwriters will refine the core of their narrative concepts to create captivating scripts by working with story advisors and creative producers.
Additionally, the cohort receives advice on how to present their ideas persuasively to potential sponsors and producers in the business.
"Welcoming dynamic African voices to the residence and giving the filmmakers the flexibility and assistance they require to advance their works is always an honor. Story Consultant Thandeka Zwana adds, "We look forward to continue the residency's pursuit of quality.
The period drama Ever Young, Amartei Armar's second full-length film, will go into production.
