Eddie Nartey mentioned film producers like Shirley Frimpong-Manso of Sparrow Productions, Abdul Salam Mumin of Venus Films, Leila Djansi of Turning Point Pictures, Yvonne Nelson's YN Productions, Samuel Nyamekye of Miracle Films, and Kofi Asamoah's Kofas Production in an interview with Graphic Showbiz. With the help of investors, the Ghanaian film industry would revive.
"I firmly believe that when these production companies band together to work and with the backing of people and business organizations, our movies will quickly recover.
Two brains are better than one, therefore if we have two or more of our outstanding producers working together, the results will be nothing less than the greatest. Such collaborative endeavors will involve the best actors, best writing, and best editing, among other things.
Individual producers going their own way don't assist our current predicament, he continued. The government will pay attention to us if we petition it jointly for assistance. Without money, we cannot do much to restore the industry, so the government and private citizens should step forward, he said.
The actor, who has been working in the business for more than ten years, noted that in order for the movie business to recover, the lack of consistency in the sector needs to be addressed.
"I think the success of Nigerian filmmakers is due to their consistency in producing quality films. Many of their film makers are putting out new productions starring various actors. It provides several options from which to choose at all times. With regard to it, we're not doing so great.
"Aside from Shirley Frimpong-Manso, who consistently releases movies and television programs, not much can be said about the other actors. I will strongly recommend that we improve on that front as that is when investors will back us, he continued.
