Tory Lanez has shared a message on Instagram two days after receiving a 10-year prison term for his part in Megan Thee Stallion's shooting in 2020.
Lanez continues to insist that he is innocent of the incident that left Megan with gunshot wounds to both of her feet. Additionally, the rapper claims that his conviction was unjustified and that he will not "apologize for something that I did not do."
Lanez was found guilty of assault with a semiautomatic weapon, keeping a loaded gun concealed in a vehicle, and careless gun discharge.
Here is his complete message.
The Umbrellas
I've never let difficulty intimidate me.
I'll never, ever let going to jail ruin me.
No matter how they try to misrepresent what I said, I have always maintained my innocence and will continue to do so.
I accepted responsibility for all of the spoken and private exchanges I had with the parties this week in court.
I'm done now.
I was not, under any circumstances, offering an apology for the charges I am being unfairly convicted of. I continue to hold the position that I will not apologize for anything I did not do.
My entire life, I have encountered challenges, and every time it seemed like I might lose, I won. This is just another instance of me having my back to the wall and fighting through it to the finish.
Hard times pass, but tough individuals endure.
Thank you to my family, friends, and umbrellas for their ongoing support.
We'll talk soon.
