Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as Lilwin, a well-known actor in Kumawood, has said that former President John Dramani Mahama warned him to stay away from politics.
The inventor of "WIZZY Empire" revealed on Oyerepa TV's entertainment program "Cinifie" that his ambition was to build a school and he did not want his brand to be associated with any political party.
I vowed never to enter politics because I wanted to open a school, and in Ghana, if you're associated with one party, the other doesn't like you. I didn't want one particular party's children attending my school because I support them; my school is for everyone, he said. "I don't do politics, I am an asset to Ghana, I have love for everyone, both parties belong to all of us," he said.
Lilwin claims that former president John Mahama gave him the advise to never accept money in exchange for his support of any political party. Lilwin is getting ready to release his film "Mr. President," and he is also preparing to launch his "Mr. President" movie.
During the 2016 campaign, I got the chance to speak with NDC and NPP members. I was motivated to forsake accepting any remuneration to support a political party by former president John Mahama. You are fortunate to be young, and the future has a lot in store for you," he continued. "I've noticed that many celebrities are being paid to be used for political campaigns, but I didn't call you here because of the campaign.
A few weeks ago, the former President paid the actor a visit, which caused some controversy. However, Lilwin has clarified that the previous president truly came to offer advice.
"John Mahama did not visit me once again for the campaign; rather, he did so to offer encouragement and counsel on keeping the movie job. He advised me to continue because I am not a self-supporting artist and even encouraged me to show copies of my latest movie, "Mr. President," to the country's leaders, including him.
