Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, a multi-award-winning artist and composer from Nigeria, has spoken candidly about his problems and how, after going bankrupt in 2020, he nearly killed himself.
He claimed that after losing his home, he moved into a hotel, but at some time, he was no longer able to pay for it. He claimed that this is when his old management, Temple Management business, filed a lawsuit against him for allegedly "stealing" a business vehicle.
The 'Your Waist' hitmaker Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, alias Taymesan, described his terrifying incident as a guest on the most recent episode of the Tea With Tay podcast, which is hosted by actor. He made clear that he was powerless to intervene at the time.
I was in court for a very long time; I didn't do shows, he said in further detail. Nothing could be done by me. You are aware that since you quit performing, you must now rely on your funds. When you are popping, though, that influx [of money] is different, and how you spend differs from how you spend any money you have saved. I might thus feel it. When I finally thought, "Mehn, I need to start touring," For me, that was a chaotic time. Guess what, COVID-19 began two days after my most recent court appearance. I was pursued. I was a hotel room. My home has vanished. I spent a very long period in the motel. There came a moment, I couldn’t pay for the hotel bill anymore.”
Iyanya continued, "The hotel's owner is such a kind person. I have never seen such a remarkable human being. He let me remain there. Alaba is his name. He let me remain there for more than a year. There, COVID literally overtook me. Think about not performing shows. You go almost a year without travelling, there is no inflow, and you spend the entire year in court. Finally, it appears as though the court battle is coming to an end when the lockdown is lifted. I spent the entire lockdown in that motel. I nearly took my own life. I was once halted by the manager. each of those things. Madness, dude.
