Recent launch of the masterclass "Beyond the Brushes with Alexandrina" by acclaimed award-winning makeup artist and beauty expert Sandra Don Arthur, commonly known as Alexandrina Makeup, aims to provide Ghanaian makeup artists with the skills necessary for success in the field. Over 100 makeup artists and aficionados attended the Debonair Afrik Studios-produced masterclass that was hosted at The Fitzgerald in East Cantonments, Accra.
The founder and creative director of SO Aesthetics Sacha Okoh, award-winning editorial photographer Gilbert Asante, fashion and beauty content producer Akai Kotei, and certified makeup artist and skincare formulator Cynthia Ama Gadzanku were among the notable attendees.
Conversations on "Navigating the Beauty Industry" with Ghanaian participants Sacha Okoh, Akai Kotei, Cynthia Ama Gadzanku, and Gilbert Asante marked the start of the masterclass. Speakers offered their perspectives on how makeup artists and other beauty experts may continue to keep current with the industry's rapidly changing trends, collaborate with firms throughout the world, and find success.
After that, Alexandrina gave two significant makeup demos where she shared vital cosmetics tips and tricks she had learned along the way.
The traditional bridal demonstration: Alexandrina demonstrated how she gave clients long-lasting bridal glam looks while instructing the class on how to meet all of their clients' wants and expectations.
The Creative Editorial Demo guided attendees through the steps of developing a distinctive editorial look and provided advice on how to save time and make more money. Alexandrina
"This year is my 12-year anniversary in the beauty industry, and it's been both a rewarding and challenging experience. I wish I had known some of the things I've shared 12 years ago to help things move more smoothly. Sandra Don Arthur stated, "My masterclass is a chance for me to give back to my community, empower them, and also share my experience with makeup artists all around the world.
Thrilling prizes from cosmetic companies including SO Aesthetics, Hair Senta, Rozay, Colorbox Cosmetics, and Shaded Beauty marked the culmination of the seminar.
For makeup artists, this was more than simply a lesson; it was also an empowering workshop. We are aware of the difficulties involved in assembling a cosmetics kit, therefore I joined together with leading Ghanaian companies to support makeup artists. To get them started on their quest, we gave participants beauty items valued thousands of cedis. I'm very appreciative to my partners, Sandra continued.
The first Ghanaian makeup artist at New York Fashion Week was Sandra Don Arthur in 2018. Additionally, she has received two Ghana Makeup Awards for Best Editorial and Best Makeup Artist.
