Kwadwo Nkansah, also known as Lilwin, a well-known actor in Kumawood, has admitted that the monthly boarding price at his school, Great Minds International, is just Ghc200.
In a recent YouTube video, the actor-musician revealed why he chose to assist parents who are unable to pay the expensive expense of their children's education.
"Fees are so exorbitant in many institutions, but they don't deliver a quality education to match the significant sums of money they are taking.
"Some of these organizations are simply profiting from the fact that the school is located in Kumasi. Some people go to school in Kumasi but have nothing to show for it, while others go to school in a far-off village but have achieved much in life," he said.
He added that although his school is not participating in any kind of competition, they are still making efforts to enable pupils to achieve excellence.
"Since my school, Great Minds, does not compete with any other schools, we are operating it within our budget. As you can see, the school is making progress because last Friday saw the graduation of the second group of Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates.
The comedic actor said, "The only issue right now is that there aren't enough buses, but we're working on it to make it easier for students to travel from the various townships to town."
