At the 16th Headies awards ceremony held in Atlanta, Georgia, Black Sherif, a popular musician from Ghana, was named Best West African Artist.
The musician outperformed Liberian The Therapist and Camidoh, as well as other compatriots from Gyakie and Camidoh.
Black Sherif extended his gratitude to his African supporters in general and to Konongo Zongo in particular after receiving the prize.

The event was presented by American actor, TV host, and model Terrence J. and multi-talented award-winning actress, host, producer, and humanitarian Osas Ighodaro at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in the United States.
Ayra Starr, Rema, Asake, Oxlade, Johnny Drille, Blaqbonez, Spyro, Seyi Vibez, FireBoyDML, KCee, and Victony all gave performances at the 16th Headies Awards.
