Omah Lay told Olamide, the Chief Executive Officer of YBNL Nation Record Label, that he already had a deal with another label when the ''Soso'' hitmaker tried to sign him to his label in the beginning of his career.
The "Jara on Top" singer revealed in an exclusive interview with British-Nigerian media personality Adesope Olajide that "Someone brought me Omah Lay's song, "Bad Influence," and I had to sort of seek for him on Instagram. I sent him a message saying I wanted to sign him, but he responded by saying he already had a recording deal.
The well-known rapper further revealed that he suffered from depression for almost four years after his hit songs ran out but that he eventually recovered thanks to the success of songs like "Wo" and "Motigbana."
"As of right now, songs like WO, MOTIGBANA feel magical to me. I believed that I would never regain my identity. I was acting crazy," he insisted.
