Promoting the interests of Ghanaian artists and encouraging unity within the business, the Musician Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has long been a pillar of the country's thriving music scene.
Upon assuming leadership positions, newly appointed executives bear the immense duty of guiding the organization towards the correct course.
Regarding this, Deputy Minister for Tourism, Arts, and Culture Mark Okraku Mantey, a well-known personality in the music industry, has asked the new executives to learn to tolerate one another and cooperate for the union's growth.
On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, during the swearing-in event conducted at the Accra Tourist Information Centre (ATIC), the minister addressed the newly appointed executives and said that while they must be together, they must also learn to accept one another in order to do their tasks.
"I charge these newly elected MUSIGA executives to learn to tolerate and work together if they want to move forward," he stated. "There are people who can be united but cannot tolerate each other and work together."
Mark also let the incoming executives know that they had a lot of work to do because of the union's many issues, especially before their election. In addition, he expressed his unwavering support for the new executives and emphasized that his Ministry had set aside an office specifically for MUSIGA-related problems.
