Kuami Eugene, a multi-award-winning musician, will not back down in his pursuit of justice from Mr Drew, a fellow musician.
A few weeks ago, Kuami Eugene claimed that he was the author of around 80% of Mr. Drew's successful song "Case," but the latter has yet to give him credit or his cut of the song's sales.
The "Rockstar" recently told Adom FM that the problem hasn't damaged their relationship in any way; all he's asking is for Mr. Drew to act morally.
We have never had a problem, but Mr. Drew's comment about our job makes me think of what my father said me just before he passed away: "With this work, you come to the top and then you go back down, so please be very careful. My father felt that music was not a reliable profession, which is why he did not want me to pursue it. That was his concern, he said.
"With the Mr. Drew situation, the song is doing well out there, and the chorus which has caught a lot of attention, I just thought he would share a portion of the song's earnings with me," he stated. When I wrote for other people, I always wanted to do so in private since I only wanted to get paid.
Kuami Eugene claims that he believes Mr. Drew should not have released the music without his consent and has pledged to make an example of him.
"I don't blame him; it's work, but it wasn't fair for him to release the music without warning and not split the profits...I communicated my feelings after he ignored my texts...I have to be an example for him," he continued.
