Tiffany Haddish was arrested for the second time in less than two years after being accused of driving under the influence, according to authorities. She was lodged in a jail in Los Angeles.
Around 5.45 a.m., Beverly Hills police reported that they had located Haddish, 43, while attending to a call to check on a driver who had stopped in the road. Haddish was discovered by officers slumped over the steering wheel of that still-running automobile.
The entertainment news outlet TMZ was able to obtain video of two officers handcuffing Haddish and escorting her into the rear of a patrol cruiser. After being given a DUI citation on Friday, Haddish was allowed to leave.
Haddish and his delegates did not respond to Friday's arrest right away. It bore uncanny resemblances to one that was from January 2022.
That time, Haddish was approached by Peachtree City, Georgia, police as they were looking into a report at 2:30 in the morning regarding a driver who had passed out on the freeway. Haddish reportedly backed her car into a house's yard when the police halted her.
At the time, Haddish was charged with driving under the influence after it was suspected by authorities that she had smoked marijuana before getting behind the wheel. In order to be freed from detention pending the outcome of the lawsuit, Haddish secured a $1,666 bond. Her trial is slated to take place in January.
Between the two arrests, there was a significant court case that Haddish had refuted and was eventually dropped; however, not before the performer claimed it jeopardized her career.
A lady claimed in a lawsuit that was widely publicized in September 2022 that Haddish and her colleague comedian Aries Spears had sexually molested her and her brother when they were young.
In separate comments, the two celebrities on trial denied the allegations, and the plaintiff withdrew the lawsuit a few weeks later. After the case, Haddish went on to say in the open that she "lost everything." Nevertheless, she has since gone on to star in a number of well-known shows, including Disney's horror comedy The Haunted Mansion.
Haddish's 2018 Saturday Night Live appearance earned her an Emmy. Her Black Mitzvah special yielded a profit in 2021.
Her autobiography, The Last Black Unicorn, was a New York Times bestseller and was nominated for a Grammy in 2017 for best spoken word album.
Haddish has other notable cinematic credits in the following: Like a Boss, Girls Trip, Night School, and The Kitchen.
