International Afrobeats artist, investor, and businessman Mr. Eazi has disclosed how award-winning Ghanaian musicians Sarkodie and Mugeez preserved his career during his time in university.
Mr. Eazi claims that in his early years of organizing events at the institution, he had the opportunity to hire performers for an award show he had planned, but regrettably, some of the performers were unable to come owing to financial difficulties.
"People discovered me, and that's when up-and-coming artists from my school started being my friends so that I could book them and obviously making money. We lost more money throwing parties, but we didn't stop doing it, we loved having projects and watching it come together, so we started switching to award shows. I had my university's first social awards when I was a student, and I remember that when Wande Coal didn't show up on the show, people thought I had stolen their money, and I didn't realize that he wasn't paid in full," Mr. Eazi recalled.
The "Legalize" singer admitted that Sarkodie and Mugeez showed him affection, came, and played even though he didn't pay them in full.
"I recall pleading with Sarkodie for something like $2,500.00, even though I hadn't paid him in full. He came on stage and saved me, which is why, until tomorrow, R2Bees, Mugeez is more than just a friend and a brother; he arrived, leaped on stage, and killed it.
