Jonathan Majors, the actor chosen to portray Kang, the main antagonist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Multiverse Saga, has been let go by the studio after he was found guilty on December 18 of two misdemeanor counts of harassing and assaulting his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari.
Variety was informed that the decision was made by a studio-close source.
Majors's public relations company, the Lede Company, and talent manager, Entertainment 360, have both fired him since his arrest. The Man in My Basement, a Protagonist Pictures production, is no longer associated with him. Majors were also featured in a significant advertising campaign by the Texas Rangers baseball team and the U.S. Army. Majors is still involved in a number of unfinished projects, such as Spike Lee's "Da Understudy" for Amazon and Dennis Rodman's "48 Hours in Vegas" for Lionsgate.
However, Majors' arrest and subsequent conviction have resulted in more high-profile professional fallout than any other until Marvel decided to cut connections with the actor. In the season finale of the 2021 Disney+ series "Loki," he played the multiverse-hopping villain Kang for the first time. This episode established Majors' character as the central figure at the center of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the main plot engine for the series going forward.
Majors was also found not guilty of one charge of third-degree intentional assault and one count of second-degree aggravated harassment in the verdict.
