Ghana's premier women's conference, the National Women's Summit and Expo, takes place in honor of International Women's Day. It is a day, now in its sixth year, dedicated to honoring and celebrating the advancements and successes of women across a range of industries, while also serving as an inspiration to the next generation through their amazing tales of triumph.
A diverse range of women from all professions and generations will host thought-provoking master classes and panel discussions focused on inspiring inclusion for gender equality, all around the world theme of "Inspire Inclusion."
This year's keynote speaker is Prof. Nana Aba Appiah Amfo, vice chancellor of the University of Ghana.
Dr. Celestina Allotey, Vice President, Sustainability and External Relations, Goldfields; Evelyn Oye Lamptey, Area Controller, Air Traffic Control, Ghana Civil Aviation Authority; and Naa Ju Yoo Oshedu Wor Borlor Jwerteer I (Manye Tsofayelor), Ga Traditional Leader, La Agbawe Kplen are among those speaking on the topic of "Inspiring Inclusion in the Workplace and Community." Ama Sarpong Bawuah, Board Chair, Access Bank;
H.E. Simone Giger (Swiss Ambassador to Ghana, Togo, and Benin), Odelia Ntiamoah (Global Director, Oxford Africa Women's Leadership Institute), Constant Tchona (Country Director, Plan International Ghana), and Becky Ahadzi Esq. (Coordinator, Affirmative Action Bill Coalition) are the speakers for the second panel discussion, which is themed "Women Inclusion in Leadership."
The topic of "Women in Creative Arts-Towards More Inclusion" will be the focus of the third panel discussion. Gyakie, an artist, Lydia Forson, an actress, Endurance Grand, a DWP Academy graduate, Adina, an artist, Sumaiya Dzietror, a creative director of Pistis and fashion entrepreneur, Vivian Boateng, the CEO of Vivies Dance & Theatre Academy, Dellasie Amino, an Afro-fusion recording artist from Ghana, and Selina Beb, a fashion designer and accessories buyer, are also present at the round table discussion. Naa Ashokor, actor and theater producer, will serve as moderator.
Representatives from the Executive Women Network (EWN) will lead a number of master courses at the summit with the theme "Inspire Inclusion-Collaborative Effort." Additionally, representatives from MEST spoke on the theme of Radiant Voices: Empowering Women to Speak Confidently.
