Sister Deborah underlined in her post on X that the LGBT community must be afforded equal liberties if Ghanaians are to experience true freedom.
She also demanded that the word "freedom" be eliminated from the nation's slogan, "Freedom and Justice," emphasizing the value of equality and inclusivity for all.
Sister Deborah used hashtags like #KillTheBill and #QueerGhanaianLivesMatter to express her disapproval of the contentious anti-LGBTQ Bill that the Ghanaian Parliament recently enacted.
Aiming to prohibit LGBTQ activities and punish anyone who support, advocate for, or finance them, the bill is currently pending presidential assent.
Ghanaians are not free if our queer brothers and sisters are not free. Let’s remove the ‘freedom’ from the Freedom and Justice distin. #QueerGhanaianLivesMatter #KillTheBill pic.twitter.com/aEbROHR75q
