The legendary R&B Supergroup New Edition Will Be Honored Into The NAACP Image Awards Hall Of Fame.

During the "55th NAACP Image Awards," the GRAMMY®-nominated vocal group New Edition will be admitted into the esteemed NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame, according to an announcement made by the NAACP and BET. Pioneers in their fields whose influence will shape the profession for future generations are honored with the Hall of Fame Award. Eddie Murphy, Stevie Wonder, Aretha Franklin, Little Richard, Carlos Santana, Oprah Winfrey, Spike Lee, Sidney Poitier, Earth Wind & Fire, and Eddie Murphy are among the previous inductees.

Queen Latifah, the critically acclaimed actor and producer of The Equalizer on CBS, as well as a Grammy®-winning musician and a Golden Globe® and Academy Award® nominee, will once again host the prestigious "55th NAACP Image Awards." The show will broadcast live on Sunday, March 17 at 19:00 WAT on BET Africa, as well as on DStv channel 129 and GOtv channel 21.

Additionally, it was revealed that Frankie Beverly, the frontman of Maze and a great R&B singer and composer, will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the NAACP Image Awards Dinner on March 14 in Los Angeles. A person who has made noteworthy contributions to human and civil rights in addition to their accomplishments in the entertainment business is given the Lifetime Achievement Award.

New Edition is among the most popular male R&B vocal ensembles and has been providing entertainment to audiences for over 40 years. Globally, the group has sold 30 million recordings in total. Many of the group members, such as Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, and Bell Biv DeVoe, had their breakthrough careers started independently by the group. When the groundbreaking, critically acclaimed biopic The New Edition Story was released in 2017, the group added an Executive Producer title to its resume. A record 29 million unique viewers watched the three-night miniseries when it debuted on the BET Networks. "The Culture Tour" by New Edition was voted the best R&B performance of 2022.

Over the course of his remarkable career, which spanned several decades, Frankie Beverly—a trailblazing performer and prolific songwriter and vocalist—left an enduring impression on the music industry. Beverly's unique voice and classic compositions have won him a lot of praise and a particular place in the hearts of people everywhere, from his early days with Maze to his solo pursuits. Frankie Beverly's influence goes beyond the stage and has left a lasting impact on the cultural landscape. She is most known for her timeless classics, including "Golden Time of Day," "Joy and Pain," and "Before I Let Go," which is still considered the unofficial summer theme song that is linked with Black culture.
